On Saturday, May 14th, we need help moving all our costumes out of the Lincoln! Please sign-up for a time slot and help us pack the costumes into boxes.

Starting in March, Merely Players Community Theatre will be temporarily moving out of the Lincoln Community Center at 100 Fulton St., Mankato. You probably have some questions.

Why are you moving?

Lincoln Community Center is undergoing a substantial renovation to the building’s HVAC system. This means we need to vacate the theatre and our rented storage facilities to allow workers access to  all parts of the building.

Where will all the stuff go?

Our plan is to move all props, costumes, building materials, etc. to a storage unit in Mankato.

When will you be back?

Right now, we plan to be back on the Lincoln Community Center stage by late fall 2022. That could change and we will keep you updated as we learn new information.

Where will we perform?

Merely Players is ramping up to our 40th anniversary season. We are working on adjusting our schedule to coincide with the Lincoln renovations. We are looking for alternate accommodations for MN Shorts in September, and will be sure to let you know here on the website and via social media channels. Merely After Dark (MAD) will still take place this winter at the Kato Ballroom.

How can I help?

Thanks for asking! Our volunteers are going to be critical in helping us sort, haul, store, and sell the props, costumes, and equipment we’ve accumulated over 40 years. Our first work day is Saturday, March 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. To sign up, click here:

Please spread the word. This is an all-hands-on-deck situation and we’re counting on you!

If you’re not able to help during a scheduled work day, we are always grateful for monetary donations, especially as we navigate movers, storage facilities, and junk removal services.

We are so grateful for the many, many volunteers and supporters who have made Merely Players a premiere theatre arts organization serving our community over the last 40 years. The board is working on some tangible ways to thank those who generously donate their time and resources during this upcoming move.

The show WILL go on!
